Movie Night in Fleeton
I have been warmly welcomed to the St Mary's Episcopal Church in Fleeton. I didn't realize how much I had missed attending church, and the kids are exstatic to be going, too! St Mary's offers a lot to their community, including a thrift store located on Fairport Rd, an annual Oktoberfest celebration (which will be on Saturday, October 8th) and a weekly Friday night Movie Night. I attended the Movie Night last night, where we watched True Grit, a Coen Brothers movie, on Blu Ray on a LARGE projection screen. They had a front row assembled of various cozy couches and easy chairs, with several tables and chairs behind. For one dollar, you could by a bottle of water AND freshly popped popcorn! The movie was great, and the company was greater. With the kids at their Grandparents' house for the evening, this was a very affordable date night!
On the October schedule, you will see The Golden Boys, about 3 cantakerous sea men, Leatherheads, a football movie, Pay it Forward, a must-see by my own standards, about a class assignment intended to provoke ideas of how to change the world for the better, and The Tourist, starring Angelina Jolie as a spy-type and Johnny Depp, as a seemingly innocent by-stander.
So join us for a good flick, meet some new friends, and maybe find a new church!
I am looking forward to many more Sundays at church, and many more Fridays, too. :)
